Biologically Unique Landscape: This area falls within the EPA’s “Moderate Relief Plains” ecoregion.
Looking for Butterflies: Prairie Skippers can be found along/atop the Windlass Hill trail as well as the gravely hillsides east of the highway. Checking flowering plants along nearby county roads (44 south of the river and 46 south) may also prove productive.
Special Instructions: Rattlesnakes are common in this area.
