Range: Found through most of the U.S. with the exclusion of large parts of Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, California and Texas. It occurs statewide in Nebraska.
Larval Hostplant(s): Grasses – Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis), Panicum and Digitaria species.
Broods/Flight Times: Multiple flights. It has been found in Nebraska from May 18 – Sept 30.
Overwintering: As a partially grown caterpillar.
Habitat: Widespread, being found in both urban and prairie environments.
Avg. Wingspan: 7/8 – 1 7/16 inches

Similar Species: Crossline Skipper, but smaller and lacking the ventral hindwing maculation of the Crossline.
