Range: The Gray Hairstreak inhabits all of North America south of southern Canada, and can be found into northern South America. It occurs statewide in Nebraska.

Larval Hostplant(s): A wide variety of plants but preferring legumes.

Broods/Flight Times: Multiple broods – it has been found from mid-April well into October.

Overwintering: As pupae.

Habitat: Equally at home in prairies, weedy areas or urban landscapes.

Avg. Wingspan: 7/8 – 1 3/8 inches
