Biologically Unique Landscape: Elkhorn River frontage and oxbows, mixed woods, grasslands and marshes.
Looking for Butterflies: This is one of only two known public areas where Black Dash Skippers have be found. In addition rare Dion Skippers and Silver-bordered Fritillaries have also been recorded there.
Special Instructions: Black Dash Skippers have been found at the north edge of the area along an oxbow 42.18349 -98.16002. Most of their habitat is probably inaccessible to all but the most intrepid viewer with waders or with a floatation device. Dion Skippers and Silver-bordered Fritillaries have been found in the road ditch on the property’s eastern border (517th Ave).
