Habitat: Deciduous woodlands.
Avg. Wingspan: Medium sized. 2 3/4 – 3 1/8 Inches
Found at: Fontenelle Forest, Indian Cave State Park.
Overwintering: As eggs on tree bark.
Identification: FW very pale-gray with no mark on the lower pm line. Form “missouriensis” has a thick black shaded line from FW base to apex of wing. HW fringe white, ventrally the bands are very prominent.
Similar Species: In Angus” Underwing (C. angusi) the HW fringe is mostly blackish.
