Range: This species inhabits the eastern half of North America, ranging northward to southern Canada. It is found statewide in Nebraska, but becomes less common in the panhandle.

Larval Hostplant(s): Grasses of the following genera: Poa, Leersia, Spartina, Setaria, and Panicum.

Broods/Flight Times: There are two or three generations. In Nebraska the Least Skipper has been found from May 21 – September 19.

Overwintering: As a full grown larva.

Habitat: Low areas, riparian and pond shorelines.

Avg. Wingspan: 7/8 – 1 1/8 inches
