Status: Rare resident/southern stray

NENHP Ranking: S2, Tier 2

Range: Found in eastern Texas north to Wisconsin and east to the Atlantic coast. Nebraska records are from the eastern third of the state.

Broods/Flight Times: Reported to be doubled brooded in Kansas, flying from early May to early September

Larval Hostplant(s): Legumes including tickclovers (Desmodium), bush clovers (Lespedeza) and milkvetches (Astragalus)

Habitat: Prairies, woodland borders

Found at: Indian Cave State Park

Overwintering: As fully grown larvae

Similar Species: Northern Cloudywing, Erynnis species
