Status: Uncommon resident

NENHP Ranking: S3, Tier 2

Range: Arkansas northwest to central Saskatchewan and northeast to Newfoundland. In Nebraska it has been found in the eastern 2/3 of the state.

Broods/Flight Times: One midsummer flight is the norm in this area although records into September indicate the possibility of an occasional second brood

Larval Hostplant(s): Various grasses

Habitat: Found in woodland margins and openings

Found at: Fontenelle Forest, Niobrara Valley Preserve

Overwintering: As a young larvae

Similar Species: Eyed Brown
